  1. HTML code in new email editor

I think there should be a way to see HTML in the new version of the email messenger editor tool (drag and drop).

At this time we are not looking to make the HTML code available for view. Should this change in the future, we can revisit this request. If you would like to discuss further, you are welcome to comment here.

    Thank you for your understanding,
    Jocelyn @ Bronto

  2. Auto Email Newsletter Generation from RSS Feeds

Allow the auto creation & blast of email newsletters from RSS feeds like FeedBlitz.com. We're doing a trial with them & may switch. As more of our audience reads their email on smartphones there's no point in creating "magazine ad" blasts. Email newsletters automatically created from blog posts is what we need moving forward.

  3. allow a REFRESH-ALL messages when you make edits to a template.

Once you edit a template, there should be a single-click option to refresh all messages that are currently using that template. Some templates can be used by hundreds of messages, and they should not have to all be opened individually in order to click on 'Refresh'! Thanks!

We have no plans to implement this at this time due to the dangers involved when refreshing template code. It can result in full loss of message content, and individually refreshing messages requires that you approve the new content. The template system is changing with the new Message Editor (currently in Beta), so give that a try and keep the suggestions coming!

  5. When an item is highlighted within the WYSIWYG editor, highlight it within the code as well.

Since the code window displays as a large chunk of unformatted code, it should be made to function more like Dreamweaver. When an item is highlighted in the WYSIWYG editor (image, text, table, etc.) the user should be able to open the code window and see that the corresponding code is also highlighted. This would make direct code editing much easier within the built in editor.

  6. Create a "Copy" Button for custom templates like you do other for other content such as footers

It would be nice to make copies of custom templates so that the end user can copy a master template, then make small tweaks to the hard coded template without fear of destroying the original.

  7. Allow messages to be assigned to different template

Currently, it is not possible to change the template assigned to a created message. That should not be the case.

This is not currently possible with our existing template system. However, with our new Message Editor, you are able to use multiple template sections within one message, making it much easier to swap out items or individual pieces. Feel free to activate the Message Editor in Beta at Home > Settings > Bronto Labs, and give it a try!

  8. Remove "View Online" from the online version. It's a circular reference-makes no sense.

There's no use to include the view online header on the online page. Please remove.

  9. Customize Facebook Like Button

Would like to see the Facebook Like button customized. For example, if I am sending a newsletter, it would be nice if contacts could Like an article URL rather than the entire message.

  10. Add better support for preserving CSS link text colors for rich text areas in custom templates.

When creating custom templates, if a link color is specified on the inline CSS, the WYSIWYG editor doesn't preserve the CSS after saving. It always defaults to the blue link color of most browsers. The only way to specify the link color is to add the CSS under "Style" in the advanced settings for the link, but this is something that not all our clients can do themselves. It would be great to have this feature!

  11. Support non-ascii characters or do NOT let the user continue to set up a message with them

We recently had an issue with non-ascii characters in a subject line of our emails. The problem is that any character that is not 7-bit ASCII that we use in the subject line gets appended to the Urls because of Google Analytics UTMs and they got changed into a control code character. Which does not work on many browsers The characters themselves would normally work in a url, however they were being malformed by Bronto.

These characters aren't new, so they either should be supported or the user should not be able to continue to set up a message delivery…

  12. I'd love to use Bronto hosting via FTP clients like FileZilla :)

    Hi there,

I find bronto hosting on app.bronto.com quite slow and not user-friendly, especially when creating multiple emails at a time and uploading/replacing lots of images.

Would you consider letting your clients access that hosting, but via external FTP clients?

  13. Dynamic Publishing Grids

Publishing grids are basically excel sheets used to publish personalized content into email messages. Each row represents a different subgroup of your contacts (basically a segment or list) and then each column is a different personalization element for your message (for example maybe a hero image or subject line or a product). This is a highly efficient way to setup dynamic content because you can create the table outside of Bronto and then upload into the system and join it with your contacts based on a segment ID (or list ID) rather than having to manually establish the rules for…

  14. Allow Dreamweaver to access Bronto's content hosting server

The majority of designers use Adobe Dreamweaver to create html-anything.
It would be VERY useful if Bronto had the ability to connect with Dreamweaver's site-management tools, through FTP or otherwise. This would midigate the time it takes to create more complex emails than Bronto's WYSIWYG can create and allow a fluid link between creating and testing new emails.

  15. provide an option to automatically append an opt-in request to FTAF messages.

If you could enable an option to automatically append a preheader/header (or even better, a customizable chunk of html) to FTAF messages asking for the opt-in, that would be pretty awesome.

  16. New Message New Version

The new version of the New Message it is not useful if you have already a HTML code. You can not change anything easily. Let us back to the old version. It take more than 3 hours to change an email ;-(, when we dit it in 15 minutes.

  17. Keep HTML doctype when importing using "Send Webpage"

For some reason, the doctype is stripped out of the message when imported using the "Send Webpage" method. You can copy/paste the same code into the HTML (Code View) editor, and it keeps the doctype.

Normally, this isn't a big deal, but since some advanced responsive layout techniques rely on doctype, it breaks the mobile layout.

While we do allow you to keep the DOCTYPE for HTML-coded templates, we intentionally strip it out when sending a message as a webpage. This is because websites can use many different Doctypes that are not supported by Bronto or by email clients in general, and that would cause your email to not render at all.

  18. href skip for link tracking for Click To Call links

With mobile devices being used to answer almost 50% of all emails it would be nice to have a click to call link that isn't messed up by enabling link tracking.

This is not something Bronto has any control over, but is rather dependent on the email client and browser being used to display the email. It is out of Bronto’s control to remove that clickable link on the phone number.

  19. Send Meeting Invites through Bronto

Would be nice to create a message that actually includes a meeting invite. If this can't be created it would be nice to have a feature added to the WYSIWYG that allows you to created hosted meeting invite files (iCal, vcal)

  20. Bulk add messages to RSS feed

We would like to create an archive of past messages. The current way of adding each message individually to the feed is painstaking (we are creating 30+ topical feeds) and prone to human error. In the same way we can bulk add messages to a Delivery Group, I'd like to add to a feed.

Alternatively - if we could make all the messages in a Delivery Group INTO a feed, that would be awesome!
